Superboy has a cheap, prefab look, some horrendous acting and shockingly bad editing - so bad I am compelled to mention it even though I never talk about editing.
It's a perfect example of exactly how bad things can get when a property like this is put in the wrong hands.
Not exactly stirring drama...
Newton did his best to bring something new to the role, though, but the first season of Superboy is mostly for the completists out there.
Often dry and only occasionally compelling... The tongue-in-cheek intent is never quite realized.
