[Jack] Scalia is fine as Bonetti, and the premise is amusing. My problem is with the dog. I just didn't find him believable. It's not enough to get down on all fours and drool. You have to make meaningful eye contact.
This is one of those shows that, if you're unfortunate enough to sit through the whole thing, you just end up sort of incredulous. Incredulous because it's hard to imagine how anyone could have produced it, let alone put it on the air.
The show wouldn't be so painful to watch if the criminal cases assigned to this crew weren't so inane and if the writers didn't have to work so hard to get Tequila involved in solving them.
Executive producer Don Bellisario's script is an awkward clash of tones in which wacky comedy and heavy drama coexist about as well as Serbs and Croats.
The next time I want talking-animal TV, I'll find a Mr. Ed rerun.
