Critic Consensus: David E. Kelley's The Wedding Bells is a lite comedy that relies heavily on stock characters, predictable wedding mishaps, and derivative plot points.

Critic Reviews for The Wedding Bells: Season 1

There's nothing wrong with fun, light entertainment. But "The Wedding Bells" is so derivative, you can almost read the movie titles from which it obviously swiped.

Its first hour is a fun, feathery romp, without any heavy lifting or laborious character assembly required.

Like many an arranged marriage, awkward at first, it could blossom.

[A] light, bubbly show.

"The Wedding Bells"... simply doesn't work.

Like everything else about "The Wedding Bells," even the exploitation is lazy.
