Critic Consensus: Tuca & Bertie skips right past Bojack Horseman's shadow with its chipper sensibility and madcap sight gags, bringing plenty of laughs as it addresses adulting anxiety and exalts the joys of friendship.

As shows about cartoon birds go, it's impressively human.

It's a consistent joy to watch the series bring that same richness to its characters' internal realities. Tuca and Bertie are still trying to figure things out, but the series handles their growing pains with tenderness and understanding.
In Hanawalt's hands, you'll feel wonderfully unbalanced, then tenderly comforted.
Bright, encouraging, and outrageous, watching "Tuca & Bertie" can feel like watching a particularly excellent Saturday morning cartoon.
Tuca & Bertie is decidedly female-centric and bold.
Tuca & Bertie is a mood. Or like Todd and Mr. Peanutbutter would call it -- "a smoodie", a mood you binge on like a smoothie.
