Movie Ratings and Reviews

A Real Friend (Películas para no dormir: Adivina quién soy)
½

Intriguing for sure, but I'm still scratching my head over it!

Repo! The Genetic Opera
½

I thought it was awkward the first time. For some reason, I thought it was better the second time around.

Dolly Dearest

Way cheesy acting. Haha.

The Gravedancers
½

The last sequence included cheesy graphics of the head of a dead woman chasing a car down. Need I say more? Haha.

Tideland
Tideland(2006)
½

I still have no idea what to do with this movie. It was creepy and very unique. At the same time, I felt like the director was trying to be too artistic and ignored what would appeal to an audience.

Death Proof
Death Proof(2007)
½

I know the point of it was to follow an older tone, but I was still bored with the long talk sequences. The car chases were totally badass, though!

The Final Destination
½

Haha, cheesy as Hell.

Son of Rambow
½

Cute. Surprisingly sad at times, though.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon

I don't think I'll ever understand this craze!

Trick 'r Treat

Amazing! This was so cool.

Paranormal Activity

Wow. I don't think I've ever been creeped out more. The audience becomes so emotionally invested in the characters that it makes it seem so real. And it's great to see a scary movie without blood and gore.

Religulous
Religulous(2008)
½

I think Maher was often obnoxious and condescending. To any skeptic, it was more than clear that the words coming out of the interviewees were outrageous. I don't think Maher had to be so blunt with his comments. However, he did a good job with examining many religions, and I gained much knowledge from watching this documentary.

Observe and Report

Hmm, I'm still scratching my head over this one. I thought Seth Rogen was great in it, though.

I Love You, Man

Wow, I thought this movie was so great. I can't believe the rest of Flixster didn't think much of it!

Twilight
Twilight(2008)

I can't believe I actually watched this. Haha.

Session 9
Session 9(2001)
½

It was interesting to see a truely creepy, yet ungory film. This movie really implemented atmospheric and suddle scares that left a noticeable haunting feeling.

Saw V
Saw V(2008)
½

I actually thought this was the best movie of the Saw series. Of course, in order to understand it, you would have to have seen the previous four, but I really thought this movie moved from needless gore to intelligent planning...plus gore. I'm excited to see the next one.

The Hillside Strangler
½

This movie was really strange.

The Trouble with Harry
½

Strangely hilarious. This is one quirky film!

Dark City
Dark City(1998)

Freshly captivating.

The Hamiltons

Interesting, but hard to follow, since little of the story was betrayed throughout the movie--it was like waiting until the end for any of the story.

Buddy Boy
Buddy Boy(2000)

Very slow build up for the tiny payoff.

Vincent
Vincent(1982)
½

Darkly hilarious.

Creep
Creep(2005)

Wish more could have been included about The Creep. Spit it out, already!

The Strangers

This movie was creepy in the theaters, but afterwords, I kept thinking how predictable it was. And the plot? Nearly nonexistent. I should have known, considering it was based on a true murder case that was never solved. I mean, how much of a conclusion can there be?

American Gothic

I liked this movie so much simply because it's a story that could actually happen! It makes me wonder how many creepy families there are out there.

I Spit on Your Grave (Day of the Woman)

Great concept, but it was really slow in the beginning.

Patch Adams
Patch Adams(1998)
½

Wow. This movie contained the perfect blend of humor and, eventually, tragedy. I don't usually like sad movies, but this one was undeniably fantastic.

Joshua
Joshua(2007)
½

A very long and slow buildup for the payoff. But, Joshua sure was a stoic kid...The parents should have seen it coming sooner, lol.

Hard Candy
Hard Candy(2006)

That girl, Hayley, was crazy-smart. That Jeff guy had no chance!

Fear
Fear(1996)
½

Pretty good, but the beginning was pretty slow.

Shutter
Shutter(2008)

I left the theaters thinking there were quite a few loose ends. But, I loved the explanation for the "neck pain!"

Siesta
Siesta(1987)

I liked the twist ending, but it also left some questions as to how some of the prior actions could have occurred.

Monkeybone
Monkeybone(2001)

The cartoon at the beginning was the only funny part!

Dawn of the Dead
½

Surpisingly intense!

Aladdin
Aladdin(1992)
½

This was my favorite movie when I was a kid!

Kissed
Kissed(1997)
½

This is one of those movies you can't stop watching, no matter how hard you try.

The Game
The Game(1997)

Wow! Talk about unique and intriguing!

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

Weird, but interesting. I kind of thought the narration was odd because it reminded me of how a fairytale-like movie is narrated.

2001 Maniacs
2001 Maniacs(2005)

Kinda weird, but it was an interesting concept.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
½

A lot better than the original, in my opinion.

Mean Girls
Mean Girls(2004)

Love this movie! It's so funny.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I liked this one the best out of the series.

CSA: The Confederate States of America

Pretty interesting, as well as entertaining!

The Amityville Horror
½

Too many things were left unexplained in this movie.

Dahmer
Dahmer(2002)
½

It was pretty good. But since it began with the statement, "Some events and characters are fictional," it really made me wonder what was real and what was not.

Hellraiser - Inferno

I thought this was a nice variation from the other Hellraiser movies.

Summer of Sam

This story should have focused more on David Berkowitz. Instead, audiences had to watch a movie mainly comprised of kinky "free love."

Friday the 13th Part 2
½

I felt like I was watching a more boring version of the first one; it had the same plotline, minus the mother. This time, Jason was doing the dirty work.

American Psycho
½

I still don't look at Christian Bale the same!

Barton Fink
Barton Fink(1991)

Kinda strange...but it was still good ; )

The Omen
The Omen(2006)
½

I liked the original better. But, maybe I would have liked this one better had I not seen the original first...

Disturbia
Disturbia(2007)

It was pretty slow at the beginning. Although it took awhile to catch momentum, the ending made this movie worthwhile. I liked it!

Bridge to Terabithia

I thought it was okay. It's just not the kind of movie I usually watch. I thought it was kind of trippy! ;)

Wild Hogs
Wild Hogs(2007)

I love this movie! It's one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time!

Friday the 13th
½

I thought it was quite boring until the ending. That lady reminded me of a cross between my grandma and Shari Lewis! Haha.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

I don't understand why everyone thought this movie was awesome. The second one was better in my opinion. This one mainly consisted of Leatherface chasing the one girl for the last half of the movie!

O Brother, Where Art Thou?

I could watch this movie over and over again and not get bored.

Do the Right Thing

I thought this movie was pretty weird. It's sad to think that a Wall of Fame in a local restaurant can cause such racial issues!

Apt Pupil (Un Élève Doué)
½

Weird stuff...the novella was even more strange.

The Phantom of the Opera
½

I didn't like how he kept sewing on those pieces of skin on his face!

Haunted
Haunted(1995)
½

Cool twist at the end. This movie reminded me of The Others.

Willard
Willard(2003)

Even after seeing the ending, I still felt really bad for Willard. I wish they would have said more about his childhood. He had no friends :(

Urban Legends: Bloody Mary
½

I thought it was pretty predictable and corny. I knew who the "bad guy" was from the beginning.

The Mangler
The Mangler(1994)
½

Once again, Robert Englund sure can act like a creepy man! (Or, at least I hope it's acting. Haha.)

Shrek the Third
½

I liked how they incorporated a lot of humor that teenagers/adults could enjoy.

Wes Craven's New Nightmare

I miss the wise-cracking Freddy!

Halloween III: Season of the Witch

What's a "Halloween" movie without Michael Myers in it? Crap. lol.

Dracula 3000
Dracula 3000(2004)

This was probably the worst movie I've ever seen.

Also: Why is it that the futuristic Dracula looked so much less technologically advanced than the Dracula in Dracula 2000? One thousand years didn't do him so well.

Hannibal
Hannibal(2001)
½

My least favorite of the Hannibal Lecter movies.

Godsend
Godsend(2003)

I just expected a lot more...

The Covenant
The Covenant(2006)
½

It wasn't bad...but it wasn't grand, either.

Jesus Christ Superstar
½

Hippies make me laugh.

The Crow
The Crow(1994)

This movie is so cool. Too bad the second and fourth sequels sucked. The third one wasn't bad, though.

Misery
Misery(1990)
½

'I'm your number one fan.'

Twins
Twins(1988)
½

"Omg, they look identical!"

Oscar
Oscar(1991)

This movie is absolutely hilarious!

Constantine
Constantine(2005)

Yeah, I hated this movie! I think it was too choppy or something!

½

My friends got so scared...but I was honestly laughing my head off.

Fathers and Sons
½

I didn't really see a point in it

The Fly
The Fly(1958)
