Paranormal Activity 2

More of the same but nowhere as creepy as the first. I nearly dozed off in the middle cause if you've seen PA, you would kind of guess the progression of events in this one (demons are damm predictable!). Classic case of milking the franchise till it becomes another 'Saw'. People were actually laughing when Kristi gets dragged off which is a sorry commentary on the 'shock' element of the flick. Better let the taste of the first linger on and avoid the sequel.

What could have been a powerful drama loses the plot twenty minutes down the road and ends up quite tame. You never get to know the real intentions behind most of the characters and are left guessing and double guessing. There is no REAL character development and while the flick is poignant in places, it kind of limps from one point to another. Naturally, nothing takes away the performance of MD as Ben who is unable to stop being himself, no matter how exasperating that may be in his quest to take on the world. We have all been there at some point, in some self-destructive way.

Withnail and I

Rightfully regarded as one of the best British comedy of the 80's. Just like "Sleuth" (the original 1972 one and not the 2007 Jude Law crap) you really have to drown yourself into the dialogues, which in W&I are witty and dripping with cynicism. There is no slapstick, no villain (apart from Withnail himself) and no love interests (except Monty‚??s lusting for "I"). It's a triumph of what good filmmakers can achieve with a brilliant screenplay provided there is a good enough thespian to deliver it on the other end and it was indeed Richard Grant‚??s finest hour. Get yourself a pack of cigarettes, a glass of red wine or apple juice (depending on your choice of poison) and drown yourself into this flick. You would not be disappointed. ‚??As a youth I used to weep in butcher's shops". This is what cults flicks are made of. Simply brilliant.

Has to be MD's best work of the decade before he got lost into playing "Douglas" in every flick he starred in since. You can‚??t call it a feel good movie (every now and then there is a line which reminds one of some gaping hole which exists, somewhere in life) nor it‚??s a thriller or even a romantic comedy. It's somewhere in the middle of all 3 (if there ever can be one in a three way!). One of the 50 movies to watch before you die.

Far Far superior than the pathetic amercian remake..it would scare the living daylights out of you...the creepy child tends to scare you more sometimes..i dare anyone to watch alone the last scene when the woman crawls down the stairs..its creepy and makes you uneasy..quite easily one of the most scariest shit i have ever seen
