Dead Poets Society

Oh Captain, my Captain

The King's Speech

King George VI: L-listen to me... listen to me!
Lionel Logue: Why should I waste my time listening to you?
King George VI: Because I have a voice!

Indeed he had.
The most interesting thing about this movie is that in the first 5 minutes, even though not knowing what was happening or who the characters were, I immediatly felt their despair.
The atmophere is created to induce a continuous state of pain.
A state that I considered well succeded.

Colin Firth does a brilliant performance, worthy of an Oscar. I sure hope he wins the award for best actor.

Black Swan
Black Swan(2010)

Give Natalie the Oscar.

Why save the best for the end?
We want to see Darkness, not a Peter Pan Tom Cruise.

Eyes Wide Shut

So weird. So good.

Cool slow motion sequences.

There ain't nothing like a real woman.

Monty Python's Life of Brian

I was expecting something a lot better.
Guess this is not my type of humor after all... Still not bad, I had some laughs...

Secret Window

Even though I find out the twist very soon, I still could appreciate the remarkable ending. An high 5 for that =)

The Incredible Hulk

Wow soooo much better than the other one. This movie is really great. I can't remember a boring scene.
Just hearing Edward Norton trying to speak portuguese was good enough for me (I'm portuguese) lol.
I don't know if I'm being impartial because of Edward but I liked it and I think that it's worth your while.

The Birth of a Nation

My first D.W.Griffith experience.
And what a good one. Even I that sometimes can't understand the reason why some movies are considered "a masterpiece" could see how important Birth of a Nation is to the cinema history.

Worst musical ever.
The songs were bad. The lyrics didn't have sense of rhyme and they kept saying the same words over and over again like "Folies Bergères" and "Be Italian".
And by the way, the name Guido isn't that cool, so they didn't have to say it at every moment - it turns out to be very annoying.

Definitely one of the most strange and beautiful movies I've seen so far.
Who would thought that such a controversial and odd topic such as sadomasochistic could be treated as a beautiful love story? I sure wouldn't...

It lasted for ever even though I only had half brain working...

Come here. Come here. Your will is strong, Van Helsing.

A real classic.
Scarier than most horror movies made nowadays.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

Not quite what I was expecting. Fooled by the trailer once again.
At least it has an unexpected ending.

So everything that comes from Jane Austen is xD
Can't say if the adaptation is good or not since I haven't read the book, but either way, Gwyneth Paltrow plays the perfect Emma.

Boat Trip
Boat Trip(2003)

So it so many times I can't count.

I will never forget Roger Moore's Cha Cha xD

Highlight of the movie: werewolves jokes.

We can always count with Matthew Shirtless McConaughey to appear in his first scene, well, shirtless xD
Regular movie like many others that will come.

28 Days Later

This is what I've seen in the four weeks since infection. People killing people. Which is much what I saw in the four weeks before infection, and the four weeks before that, and before that, and as far back as I care to remember. People killing people. Which to my mind, puts us in a state of normality right now.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua

Great, now I can't hear Drew Barrymore's voice in the next few months...

The Box
The Box(2009)

I didn't understand half of it, but that cloud of mystery made my day. One of the things I most appreciate in a movie is the ability to attract the audience; and my mind was completely trapped in the story.

Alvin and the Chipmunks

It's sooo cute. And it's with Jason Lee. I like him. Theodore it's one of the most cute things that I've ever seen!! Soooooooo cute!!!!!

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel

If anyone ever kidnaps Theodore and Brittany, I'm just saying it won't be me...

Knight & Day
Knight & Day(2010)

As Cruise and Diaz have stated Knight & Day is full of comedy, romance and action, and is consider by them to be of all those genders. Well, both action and comedy were great; on the other hand, the romance could have been better, not that I'm complaining. They work well together and we can see a good connection between them. They just didn't give that much of importance to those scenes. It happens that I'm a romantic person, so I wanted more.
Roy Miller is this surreal spy. He does this impossible things without even get a scratch. And that's the beauty of the film. We are sitting there thinking "For God sake, this is so surreal" while laughing. And that's cool, that's what makes Knight & Day a good action film.
When Roy Miller and June Havens are together it's difficult not to smile. She's this lovely, charming simple girl that ends up in all that spy drama. Her reactions are hilarious and the things he says make the whole thing funnier.
Knight & Day is definitely to keep in mind.

The Crying Game

That guy looked better as a woman than a lot of women. And he was pretty as a man also. Shit. I feel bad now xD

It was so interesting that I spent the whole movie looking at my cat and talking with my brother about what my cat was doing xD

Brooklyn's Finest

Yeah, a good cop movie for future reference.
And Oh my God, Ethan Hawke is amazing.

I Hate Valentine's Day

After 10 minutes the smile on Nia Vardalos' face starts to annoy. But thankfully after 1 hour she stops - or else I would have a nervous breakdown.
It's the regular romantic comedy. I've seen others and will see more like this one.

Bell boy! Bell Boy! BELL BOY!

The Bone Collector

I'm so disappointed. People around me always told me The Bone Collector was a great film and I was expecting something not that much predictable.
I knew who was the killer for the second time he appeared. Why? I mean, I'm not that astute to guess who the killer is at forty minutes (or less) of the film.
They ruined all of it with one shot. It was totally inappropriate to make that shooting. It took one second for me to understand. He shouldn't have been there in that scene! It was stupid! All the suspense was thrown away.
A thriller without suspense is like, I don't know, Christmas without a Christmas' tree...

Watched it in philosophy class. My teacher's objective was to make us watch something that involved the topic "meaning of life". What did she want us to understand with it? I have no idea...
To me it was a bunch of insane stuff happening to a hot girl. And not to forget the attractive "scientist priest" - my favourite part - that was sent to investigate the hot girl suffering from the stigmata.
Yet, it also shows that Vatican has a lot of things covered. But that I already knew.
But without all of those philosophy craps it was pretty enjoyable.

Repo! The Genetic Opera

Cool xD
The songs are catchy.
And the atmosphere is totally dark.

Sex and the City

I imagine that it must have a true meaning for those who were faithful to the Tv show.
For those who never saw it - like me - I consider it a good girly film.
But should boys watch it? I don't think so. Unless for some reason they watched the tv show.

The Wolfman
The Wolfman(2010)

Benicio Del Toro in it's best - I begin to like the actors on dependence of whether they personify a character I really like, what was the case. I never gave him that much of importance, but now the things are different.

I love David Bowie!!
This film is weird and sweet - two qualities that I love - and I can't forget to mention that I also love David Bowie xD

Gangs of New York

That last scene left me disappointed...

The Matador
The Matador(2006)

This one is quite different.
It's the unusual hit man story. Instead of showing a guy killing other guys for one hour, it shows us a strange friendship.

I couldn't not say nothing about Greg Kinnear. I simply love that guy. And he suited the role perfectly.
Pierce Brosnan was great too. But that this is not necessary to refer.

The Ugly Truth

Well I didn't liked this movie for it's originality. Cause it isn't original.
I find difficult to watch a romantic comedy in which the characters are nice. But that happens in The ugly truth.
And that's why I liked it.

Love Bites (Love Bites: The Reluctant Vampire )

I'm being completely partial on this one.
I mean, everything that Adam Ant does I find it cute, adorable and funny. So off course I would like this one.

Though, I know that the film's quality is bad. The sets were terrible, I've seen better interpretations, and well, the story could be better (specially at the final).
But, it's ADAM ANT! xD

Personal Effects

I didn't know what to expect when I put the DVD on the player, but then the first line of the film got my attention.
I thought this would be another one of those romances that play on TV on those boring weekends and that I only watch because its better then sit and studdy. Yet I soon realize it was much more. The loss of someone close is something that hits me. And when a film is well directed its affects are bigger.
Despite showing us the sorrow, it also shows how difficult it is to overcome; and how it is finally overcome.

I think it's the first Michelle Pfeiffer's performance I liked.

Filth and Wisdom

When I die, I'm going to go straight to Heaven. And you are going to ask me why. Did I pray enough? No. Did I share enough? Not really. Was I humble enough? Definantly not. So what makes you so sure you're going straight to Heaven, you ask. And I will tell you: because I told the truth.

Though coming from Madonna I knew I would like this one. But not this much.
The film tells the story of 4 friends and the difficulties they are going through; each with his problem, but all on the same "shit". And there's something on that hard life they take. I don't feel sorry for them; for instants I almost find it attractive - that's the beauty of the film. But it has another advantage: it takes place in England.
All the characters are lovely and all got charisma. Specially AK. Eugene Hutz has that glow that keeps us looking at him quietly. And that's why he talks to the camera; he talks to us. The things he say (I don't know if Madonna wrote that stuff) not only make sense but also makes us think for a while.
Another character I loved was Professor Flynn performed by Richard E. Grant. A lovely man, a poet, also under suffering.
The soundtrack is great (I now know and love Gogol Bordello - band that appears in the film as itself in which Eugene Hutz takes the vocals) and we can hear some Madonna's songs - which I think is perfectly normal.

So, if Madonna decides to direct another film she can count on me. I just hope that I can count on her.

Johnny Mnemonic

Oh my God... Keanu Reeves has learnt a lot about acting... Back in those days even I - that have trouble in distinguishing a good actor from a bad one - think that he sucked.
But, as I said, we can see him evolving. His performance in Dracula was a lot worse.

Wasn't satisfied; there were to many holes...
I will read the book.

Splendor in the Grass

Didn't quite understand the meaning though...

Battle For Terra

Did you know "Terra" is the name for Planet Earth on portuguese language?
Just a curiosity =)

About the film, off course I liked it.

Definitely a win!
Brad Pitt and David Duchovny on a psychopaths' subject? What a pleasure.

There were two things that never seemed to reach a final: Viggo Mortensen's horrible accent and the film xD

The Informant!

When polar bears hunt, they crouch down by a hole in the ice and wait for a seal to pop up. They keep one paw over their nose so that they blend in, because they've got those black noses. They'd blend in perfectly if not for the nose. So the question is, how do they know their noses are black? From looking at other polar bears? Do they see their reflections in the water and think, "I'd be invisible if not for that." That seems like a lot of thinking for a bear.

Loved his thoughts. Do we really think that stupid thinks during the day? Yes, we do xD

The Men Who Stare at Goats

More of this is true than you would believe

Not quite what I was expecting.
It is so surreal and completely weird; some things like the "predator" and "cloud bursting" I will never forget =)

Vicky Cristina Barcelona

Don't like the actors, hated the characters, but the story, well, that was ok.
However, how can I like a film with a good story but with horrible characters?

The Vanishing

Still, I think the end could be more satisfying; to much expectation is created for that final.

All About Steve

Oh... I don't know why are people always criticizing this film. It isn't that bad. And Sandra Bullock was ok; I've seen better work, but she was ok.
The rest of the cast was also good - and it's always a pleasure to see Bradley Cooper acting.

Seriously, I don't understand.

Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas

I loved Eris and the way her hair moved...

The Hurt Locker

It's totally comprehensive that this film has won "the" Oscar.
There's always in the air that feeling of "something is going to happen" and that keeps the audience captured.
The sets, the directing and acting are of high quality; and it looks real - that's the strongest weapon.

Nop... Not that good.
I also think there were some rough transitions.
Still, could enjoy Paul Bettany.

P.S. I Love You

Gerard Butler with an irish accent; nothing to add.

Mutant Chronicles

Goog actors, supposedly a good film.
But no.
My God they mixed up everything: we get machines that came from space; monks and swords; we get the future in 2707; wars; the world divided in 3 imperious; Mars; mutants; it stops to make sense!! I like originality but this is not the case - it became ridiculous.
Please, monks and an alien machine? An alien machine that makes mutants? A sacred seal broken by war? WTF?
I seriously don't know why I spent my time on this. The CGI was terrible. Even the good actors seemed to act terribly.

Bright light. Bright light.

Gizmo is so cute.

Alice in Wonderland

We all know what lovely means in Burton's dictionary - a mix of sweetness, weirdness, fantastical, beauty, morbidness and colourful qualities present in every character, each played by the greatest actors of the market.

What's your game?
What's your game?
Speak to me. Speak to me, or I'll kill you like the fucking dog that you are. Fear me. Fear me. Fear me!

One of the most complete films I've seen.
Guy Ritchie introduced an excellent philosophy that will only be understood if the viewer asks himself the true meaning of each character's actions.
Still, if the viewer isn't interested in those genius details, he can always enjoy the kick ass thrilling action scenes.
I admit that the message arrives to the receptor incomplete. Yes, Ritchie allows us to understand some things - he gives us clues with the quotes he presents us in the beginning - but he also leaves us a hole in the middle - he left me unsatisfied.
I had to read an interview - in which he explains the purpose of everything and in where he got the inspiration - to give rest to my mind (I couldn't think in something else but to understand what I knew was worth to).
As I had thought the plot was full of metaphors and symbolims and couldn't agree more with what he was trying to say. Specially with this:

The greatest enemy will hide in the last place you would ever look.

Inside us. We are our enemy.
That's why my favourite scene is the Jake Green's release on the elevator's 13 floor (as I said, it's all about symbology). And God, I worship Jason Statham for that one. And Ray Liota for several others. And everyone that put their hands on this marvellous genius film.
Still, it shouldn't have been necessary to search for meanings. They should have come with message. Pity for that.

Speed Racer
Speed Racer(2008)

Wow I really liked this one. A bit different from the Speed Racer I was used to, but on reality I never really liked the Tv show that much xD
The cast is delightful and the CGI (that is weird at first) gives a personal touch to the film.
I will definitely watch it again.

First Snow
First Snow(2007)

How obsessed can a man become?

Jennifer's Body

For my surprised I kinda liked it.
Megan Fox was perfect for the role and I can finally say she's a nice actress.
Amanda Seyfried was also very good, and won more attention than in Mamma mia!, the latest film I saw with her (and I don't believe that happened due to the different importance of the roles, but the quality in which she performed).
I loved Adam Brody's performance. He reminded me Brandon Flowers from The Killers, which I worship. Just hope that the only thing in common between Brandon and Nikolai (Brody's character) is the looks.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

Flint Lockwood's father is so sweet =)

Good in everything.
Besides, although vampires are in fashion this is a new and different way of approaching the topic. At least for me. I've never seen or read a story like this one. And creativity rules.

Arsene Lupin
Arsene Lupin(2004)

And I'm not even going to talk about the ending.

It is stupid, but not that kind of stupid funny comedy. Just stupid.
Can't remember a scene in which I laughed. Or even smiled...

The Remains of the Day

Didn't see the point.
When that happens, it's difficult to like a film like this one.

The Duchess
The Duchess(2008)

"You don't have to please others all the time."
"It's what I've been brought up to do. Difficult lesson to unlearn."

Congrats to Ralph Fiennes. He was absolutely fabulous. I wanted to hate The Duke but I couldn't due to his confidence and power.
Keira Knightley was glamorous and gorgeous as always.

Summarizing a good plot and actors. Nothing to criticize.

So sweet.
Matthew Broderick is adorable.

Strictly Ballroom

We're telling a story. The rumba is the dance of love.

In the Mood for Love

The set, the shooting angles, the colours, the story. It's all a matter of talent.

For one moment my pulse increased significantly.
I love when that happens =)

The thrill rushing through my veins. What a good feeling.

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans

- Shoot him again.
- What for?
- His soul is still dancing.

Becoming Jane

I've never read a Jane Austen's novel, I only saw the adaptations of "Pride and Prejudice" and "Sense and Sensibility", which I adored.
Now, I must say that I can't wait to read her novels.

Particularly liked Bill Murray´s contribution xD

The Librarian: The Curse of the Judas Chalice

After all the time that has passed since I saw ER, I still love Noah Wyle =)
And these movies are kickass!!

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

I'm still surprised. Can't believe that Matthew McConaughey didn't have a shirtless scene.

Step Up 2 the Streets

Nothing new. Besides, their dancing wasn't that good.

The House Bunny

With the right company it is kinda enjoyable.
Don't watch it alone.

The Sea Inside (Mar Adentro) (The Sea Within)

A good spanish film.
And Javier Bardem is, for certain, a great actor.

The Pianist
The Pianist(2002)

Adrien Brody is an extraordinary actor.

Music and Lyrics

The best of Hugh Grant.
Alex Fletcher is one of the most charismatic characters I've ever seen taking the lead in a romantic comedy.
His sarcastic way of talking is something.

For the first time I actually liked to see Val Kilmer acting.
Is rare to see a movie that really takes advantage of the story's potential. This one does it.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Forget Shorty!
Henry Jones is the real comedy!
I absolutely loved Sean Connery.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Shorty is the Raiders of the Lost Ark's missing character.
Indy and him make an hilarious team.
(And I don't even like kids.)

Raiders of the Lost Ark

An epic, I know.
But it was quite boring. And besides Indiana, the rest of the characters were insipid.

Event Horizon

I spent the whole film thinking I was gonna see something scary and repulsing. But that moment never actually came.....

Sherlock Holmes

A few changes on the characters, but the Holmes' spirit is kept.
And isn't Jude Law a sexy Watson?
Although there were some moments in which I was confused. I couldn't quite understand if whether Watson was limp or not. And in other case I couldn't understand if is arm was hurt or not. Sometimes these small details can ruin a moment.

By the way, this new Holmes does a lot of fighting. While we were leaving the theatre my brother heard one old couple saying that the film was too violent. Of course that if you are expecting a peaceful investigation you'll be totally surprised. But I guess that if you saw the trailer that won't happen.

Some moments are highly depressing and others highly hilarious.
It's adorable (which is a usually quality of Pixar's films), and Carl is such a good man... and the situation is so sad, but they turn it in an adventure and it starts to get funnier (thankfully, or else I would spend the whole film crying...).
I was surprised with the effect it had on me. When the film ended I put it from the beginning again.
It now belongs to my classic animated list.

Team America: World Police

In anything, if you want to go
From just a beginner to a pro
You need a montage!
Even Rocky had a montage
This type of humour doesn't put me crying, but always leaves me smiling. But, like all the comedies, you may like it or simple dislike it.

And what about that dick, pussy, asshole talking? The guy that made that up is a genius xD

The road trip was brilliant.
The rest was just ok.

Big Nothing
Big Nothing(2007)

Still a bit chocked with the finale.

It kept me from buying Christmas presents.
It has to have some qualities for that.

Miami Vice
Miami Vice(2006)

Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs were more stylish back in the TV show.
But that's not the problem cause Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx also look good.

What confused me more was the fact that "Miami Vice" didn't take place in Miami. That's stupid. Why take "Miami Vice" to Colombia?
And then we can start by referring the script which is hollow without any kind of taste.
The story is really bad. It doesn't make sense!
The detectives begin searching the FBI killers, and then they end up arresting some middle man from Colombia (or something like this)!

Michael Mann you are much better than this.

Gerard Butler and Michael C. Hall.
Two 5 stars actors.
Still there is something missing. Gamer has the potential to go farther, but something was lost.
Pity though.

Mix Pocahontas with Lord of The Rings.
Then you get Avatar.

Excellent to watch in 3D.
And I will always remember the quotes (thanks to my friends):
Go back and Come
And in portuguese (I'll change it to english as soon as I can):
Tu acasalaste com esta mulher?

The Lost City

Strange. It kept my interest, and that's very unusual in this kind of films.
It was totally worth the 2h20min spent (I think it was 2 a.m. when the film finished). Even with a enormous desire to go to bed, I didn't do it until it was over.
And I understand why I didn't. The relationship between Fellove family members was strong. I think that was what I loved the most. How the details about them were given while the story developed.
And there were some moments in wich I thought that Andy Garcia was looking good..... Yeah he did a good work.
I even learn some things about Cuba.

Year One
Year One(2009)

It's not that bad...

A Perfect Getaway

Good story (with twist) + Good actors = Great film

Looks dark... Cool =)

Love Actually

When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaking suspicion... love actually is all around.

Loved it. One of the best romantic comedies ever made.
The characters are simply lovely, the stories are so sweet that you wish to live at least one of them (I guess that even if you're not a romantic person you would like to live one; we all want to find love some day, right? - that's my opinion).
All the cast is fantastic. Not even a complain about that.
Plus I received a bonus - I love to watch famous actors trying to talk portuguese. And Colin Firth does a good job - he's hilarious =)

If you don't like romantic comedies and for some strange reason you decide to watch one, try this.

Urban Legends: Bloody Mary

Too bad.
Watch the first two of the series. No need to see this; don't see this.

Frankly I was bored twenty minutes later. Yeah, I liked a few scenes (like the "cell block tango" - or wasn't I obsessed with everything about this dance style), still the rest was dispensable.
"Moulin Rouge" is WAY BETTER in every aspects.

I knew I would like it. I knew it would be good.

A nice film to watch with the family in the theater on a Sunday afternoon.
Some flaws but acceptable.
By the way, Bruce Willis has a power. He's capable of putting family members of different ages and cinematographic tastes agreeing with what to watch.

World's Greatest Dad

Wow... Weird, on the good side.
The story line flowed naturally. If the end had been different, it wouldn't have the same impact. And that impact was perfect.
The soundtrack is brilliant.

The Proposal
The Proposal(2009)

Sweet and not a huge cliché.
For a romantic comedy it was very good.

Cruel Intentions

Well..... Really don't know where to start....
Maybe it's better to begin with the story. Two step-brothers make a bet... If he wins he gets to sleep with his sister. Oh, yeah, step-sister. I guess that underlined word turns everything less disturbing. Or not...
Then, we have the actors. That looked like a pornographic movie made with teen actors. That was also disturbing. How old were they when the movie was directed?
And, about the story again, why did Sebastian spend the last minutes of the movie crying? Just because one person fells for another, doesn't mean that to prove that he needs to be crying all the time... Unless is a pussy.
Ok, just one last observation, this is one of that movies which are transmitted on Tv on a Sunday afternoon and that always leaves me uncomfortable and indisposed, and sometimes, with a headache. But, I've seen worse...

It looked like a better version of "High School Musical". I didn't feel like it was reality unlike "Fame: The Original Movie".

The Island
The Island(2005)

Who would believe it? All I know is, people will do anything to survive. I want to live and I don't care how

Excellent film.
The concept of freedom is well described so as human selfishness.
The most frightful thing is to think that something like this is quite capable to happen in the future.

Easy Virtue
Easy Virtue(2009)

I guess there was no better end

Whatever you may think is happening, you won't predict it.
I challenge you to predict.

Donnie Darko
Donnie Darko(2001)

Desperate to review (preferably with a special friend).
I have a mission: understand the logic of the story, get the details, get scared with the bunny and sing Duran Duran's "Notorious".
I think it's quite possible

V for Vendetta

Need to watch again.
I can only catch the details at the second view. Besides, now I will probably appreciate more the moral. What can I say, I grew up *^^*

Scary Movie
Scary Movie(2000)

In spite of not having adored, I will admit that compared with the others is the best.

Sleepy Hollow

So funny and dark! It's without doubt a classic.
Tim is a genious and Johnny a 5 stars actor. What more could we ask?

Anchorman - The Legend Of Ron Burgundy

This takes place on that group of things that make feel strange. I hear everyone around me saying that Will Ferrell is a great comedian and I can't see him like that. I just can't laugh with him.

The Terminator

Kyle Reese is an adorable man. Even I felt in love =)

The Unborn
The Unborn(2009)

"Jumby wants to be born now"
Is there anyone who wants to nickname their son "Jumby"? Seriously, is there? I hope that was only fiction...
(Sorry if I'm offending someone called Jumby)

The Final Destination

Only worth for the 3D experience. But when I say it's worth, it really is worth.
I challenge you to not move when the screwdriver jumps directly to your face.

Take the Lead

Has it's moments...

District 9
District 9(2009)

It never occurred to me that I would end up liking this film this much.
I can't explain, what I know is that when I was watching it people around me disappeared and nothing else existed besides "District 9". And that felt great. I finally get connected to a film.
And I swear, if that final scene had kept going, I would have cried. For real.

Kept my interest till the last scene.

The Great Mouse Detective

Sherlock Holmes in a short version - adorable.

Shakespeare in Love

I absolutely adore this film. I can't get tired of see it.
And now I got it on DVD =P

Space Chimps
Space Chimps(2008)

Space Chimps? What about Space Shit? ... Well, I never liked monkeys anyway...

Fritt vilt (Cold Prey)

And this is one of the reasons that I'm proud for being European.

Meet Joe Black

I was always saying "I wanna see Meet Joe Black" and people around me answered "Good luck. You can see it without me. That one is boring"
I don't think so. Though predictable Meet Joe Black is a very interesting film. And Brad Pitt introduces a great humor scenes (for example the peanut butter which was one of my favorite).
This one I won't forget.

The Morgue
The Morgue(2008)

Don't be fooled by the poster.
Don't see this one.

I Love You, Man

Just to have an idea, when the movie ended, my friends and I cheered, applauded and shouted "It's over!! It's finally over!!"...
True story.

We should've just gone and done the strippers like Handsome Bob would've done. You should just drown the cat instead of letting it out. No, no, not you. Not fag Bob.
- One Two

I wasn't expecting to like this movie this much.
But they got me with fag Bob xD

The Waterboy
The Waterboy(1998)

Good movie that comes from the times when Adam Sandler was funny.

The colors. This has the most beautiful image colors I've ever seen...

He's Just Not That Into You

Being a girl, this one gives something to think.
I can say I was positively surprised cause I was expecting another romantic comedy where everything ends well, everyone finds and ends up with the person of their life; but it was different, it felt realistic.
I also found out positive the existence of many characters. When I didn't like one story, or an actor, I had another ones to see. And it kept me more interested.

The Last House on the Left

I always liked revenge movies. Specially when I don't feel any kind of affection toward the killers.

Romeo + Juliet

It has a lot of flaws, sometimes gets annoying, and somethings are surreal. But it's worth for the end. I even shivered when I saw (although I knew what was going to happen, I was surprised; in the good way).

Young Frankenstein

You know, I'm a rather brilliant surgeon. Perhaps I can help you with that hump.
- Dr. Frederick Frankenstein

What hump?
- Igor

The Midnight Meat Train

I was expecting more... Something more scarier.
Liked the blood.

This is definitely the sickest film I've ever seen. And I have seen strange things and strange people. But this one is by far the strangest and the more unthinkable.
What goes on the writers head? Scary...

They could have worked better the sounds.
Then it would have been scarier.

The Jackal
The Jackal(1997)

I declare Richard Gere irish accent as the best thing in the movie ;)

I saw the director's cut.
3 hours of film without getting bored. Absolutely worths the time.
Unneeded to say that Rorshach is my favorite watchman.

Public Enemies

This is that type of movie where the bad guy is easily the good guy. And when the end comes we say "why did it had to happen like this?".
Great actors and great interpretations as expected.
Different shooting, the camera shakes, what I see as a good thing, makes it more realistic. I only have one complain; there's a scene, agent Purvis is talking to the rest of the police officers, and when I try to look at him, to see his face and expression, I can't see him clearly. And at the next second, I quickly understand that the camera is focusing on an hanger with coats behind him. So, why the hell, does something like focusing the set behind the actor instead of him happens in a top film? That was quite annoying.

The Fall
The Fall(2006)

I waited for this movie for months. I was desperate to see it.
And when I finally saw it I couldn't be happier.
It was everything I expected it to be.

The reality described at the hospital, the pain that Roy suffers, the innocence of a young child, the friendship created, the story...
The story is the best. The characters in it, some have a good motive to search for revenge, others don't, but they all got a strong presence. Their clothes, accessories, make-up - everything is perfect. And the sets? Strong and bright colors and beautiful landscapes made me wanna escape and become someone, a character, become part of the story.

I'm also happy with another thing. Lee Pace's perform.
Although I'm a fan, I didn't really knew what to expect from him. The thing is, I never saw a film with him. This was the first time. I knew him from "Pushing Daisies" - a Tv show.
And now that I saw, he couldn't be better. He gave life to Roy.
Lee, I'm proud of you =)

This is a must see five times!

The end ruins a bit.

Breakfast at Tiffany's

I like Audrey Hepburn. She's a very beautiful actress.
What I love most in her it's her smile =)

Bedtime Stories

Bugsy and is crazy eyes gave me a few laughs.

Disney should stop making films that aren't animated.
Adam Sandler should stop acting.
I should stop seeing both of the things, unless there's a Bugsy in it.

Four Weddings and a Funeral

Main story sucks. MacDowell is annoying and hateful.
Put the things in this way: if Charles hadn't met the American girl I would have liked the movie.
What I mean is that the two main characters and the relation they develop are the problem of the film.
Charles' friends, the weddings, the funeral, all the rest is very good.

"Observe, Lord Burghley. I am England."

Call Girl
Call Girl(2007)

Ivo Canelas is now my favorite portuguese actor.

Gran Torino
Gran Torino(2009)

I saw it.
I put my conflicts with Eastwood behind and I saw my first Clint's film.
I liked it. Drama, comedy and good characters. There were some bad preforms but the rest was good. Besides, Eastwood's preform couldn't be better. The way he turns from a racist old prick to a nice good man but always having the character's personality present, justifies he's great actor career.
I don't like to admit it, but he knows what he does.

Kiss Me
Kiss Me(2004)

Another portuguese crap.
I'm embarrassed.

I liked it.
Even Beyonce's performance.

Arte de Roubar (The Art of Stealing)

For a portuguese film it's not that bad.
Sad they had to do it in English, but I guess it's the only way to captivate the own portuguese people.

High School Musical 3: Senior Year

The worst High School Musical.
So far.
This is even more stupid than the others. The songs and the dances are worser. The playback is horrible. Again.
I only remember enjoying one very small scene. The rest, every time they opened their mouth, I hoped that they shut up quickly. Specially when they started to sing. And being this a musical, I considerer it ridiculous.

The Warriors
The Warriors(1979)

Warriors, come out to play-i-ay

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I don't know what they did... There's a lot, but really a lot missing. I read the book and there are some crucial parts that weren't on the movie, and believe me, there are many. I'm not saying to put everything that it's written on the book in the film, just to tell more details!! They don't tell any information about the new characters!! And they show parts that don't even make sense. They just appear with no logic or explanation. The way they turn what is written into another completely different thing is quite annoying. Not to mention that they cut all the parts with Lupin, that by chance happens to be my favorite character.
But even putting this behind, what about the effects? Jesus, they really sucked. At least they could have done that better.
I was hopping another great movie, a 4.5 or even a 5, but this, was really, really bad.
If you liked this film and you haven't read the book, trust me, don't read it now, or you will be really disappointed.

I actually liked the movie. It isn't bad at all.
The only thing that I didn't liked was the change of scenes. In this second Dennis Quaid was in the crime scene searching for a clue and in the other he was at home. The scenes changed to abruptly.
It also can be considered predictable.

Sleeping Beauty

This movie is simply beautiful. It's charming and scary at the same time. Lovely and sinister. It's balanced, making people become frightened and enchanted at the same time.
It's a classic.

It's Shrek.
What more can I say?

This film has a sweet story and characters. Is a beautiful animated film.
But the best in it is the way they transmit a strong message along that sweetness.
This is the best animated film for kids and parents ever made. Specially for parents.

My Bloody Valentine 3-D

The end.
The end gives life to the movie and a purpose to the time I spent watching it.
The rest? Bad.

My Blueberry Nights

A slowly sweet film.
Worth watching.

Again, another good film to see in the theater with close friends.
It's already a tradition =)

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan

The perfect movie to see in the theater with best friends.

The Hangover
The Hangover(2009)

Officer Franklin: Not you, fat Jesus.

Angels & Demons

Weak characters.
Bad CGI.

The Lost Samaritan

Besides the bad acting, the pointless flashbacks and the bad taste music this could turn out to be good.
Ian Somerhalder and Ruta Gedmintas were the only ones capable of doing something that could be called "acting".
I rated this film 3 stars only because of the script and those two actors.

Savage Planet

It started good.
Then it began to get worse.
After that it became surreal.
And finally keep seeing it, became a torture.

Supposedly they were "giant" and "abnormal" bears. And they were being "shot". And they were using real guns instead of plastic ones. --'

Terminator Salvation

"This is John Connor, and if you are listening to this, you're the resistance"

But the problem is, where is John Connor?
Well, John Connor doesn't have the attention that (as a main character) it is supposed to have.
This film was supposed to be about John Connor, he is "the guy"! The salvation! But instead, "the guy" ended up to be Marcus, the new machine! That's not right.
Don't take me wrong, I loved Marcus Wright from the first instant, and that's the answer to the question.
As you can see, I'm a huge fan of Christian Bale, but I simply put him in a corner and focused almost all my attention to Marcus. And it wasn't for Christian's fault. He's interpretation was perfect as always. It all had to do with the script.
So, I was disappointed for the lack of attention to John Connor.
I would have appreciated to see Christian more like the main character.
Still I have to felicitate Sam Worthington. I really liked to see him on the screen :)

Pink Panther 2

They can't call him Inspector Clouseau... That's an outrage...

Starts a bit confusing but as it goes on it all starts to make sense.
And the final is good.
By the way, cool mask...

Paul Blart: Mall Cop

A good stupid movie =)

Richie Nix (Gordon-Levitt) is a psychopathic young man. He's that character that gives instability to the film. And thats why he makes it more "alive". My favorite character for sure, very well interpreted.
Congrats to all the actors, but specially to Gordon-Levitt for the reasons that I've already mentioned.
Good film. A must see.

Once upon a Time in Mexico

Johny Depp totally saved this movie

Moulin Rouge!

Originally, I gave to this film a 4.5 rating.
Why did I change it?
Simple. When I saw "Moulin Rouge" for the fourth time, I found myself singing the songs and telling the lines. With that I realized that in all of the four times I saw the film I enjoyed it like I was seeing it for the first time. What I mean with this is that even knowing what was going to happen, I was caught by the story, and in the end, I always got a strange sensation. And that sensation always stayed for the next days.
Summarizing: Even knowing it's story and recognizing it's flaws, "Moulin Rouge" still has a huge power over my feelings. The songs are beautiful and amazingly performed, and the story is one of the sweetest I know. (Yes, I'm lame...)
So, with all this, why wouldn't I give "Moulin Rouge" 5 stars if I love it so much?
Well, that's all.

Balls Out: Gary the Tennis Coach

Two thumbs up for the Chinese old man!!

Mamma Mia!(2008)

I absolutly loved this movie!! It's so worth the money I payed!
And I could still sang in the teather that no one heard me! =D

Get Smart
Get Smart(2008)

Steve Carell had a good representation (I only remember a few things of the tv show, but I'm pretty sure that's true). The problem was that the movie was quite boring... There were only a few funny things and the some stuff turned out to be predictable.

Very predictable, but I enjoy it. Good actors and good representations so, I think that its worth the time.

Flight of the Living Dead: Outbreak on a Plane (Plane Dead)

Not bad... I was expecting a crapy movie with all that horrible efects, but I find out that they weren't that bad and the movie turned out to be enjoyable...

Drillbit Taylor

Prom Night(2008)

(By the way, I'm talking about Zooey Deschanel)

Meet Dave
Meet Dave(2008)

Finally! A good comedy!

Somebody, please, kill Matt Damon...

Love Rob Scheider!!!! Thanks for making me laugh three times in this shitty movie!!

Please!!!! WTF!?

The Dark Knight

I don't have much to say, I think everyone knows how good this movie is.

The Killing Floor

Predictable, but enjoyable.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets

I was expecting something so much better...
I mean, everything was easy. When they needed to go to some place or to know what things ment, they always knew something or someone that could help them.

Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World

They shouldn't have done it.

I can't believe she ended up with the new John. In the first "Pocahontas" she and John Smith were so in love, they even made me cry at the end, and now they just didn't care about each other. They just skip the subject. And, lets not talk about the drawings. They didn't care about that either. There were no details.

Death to Smoochy

Rainbow Randolph was so fu***** awesome!!! Lol

Little Miss Sunshine

That music... Turn everything so dramatic... I loved that in the movie.
I must admit that Steve Carell had a strong character, what is very unusual.

Primal Fear
Primal Fear(1996)

Predictable, but it made me watch it til the end to have sure that it really was what I was thinking. I think that for a debut Edward Norton had made a perfect performance.

25th Hour

The Lion King

When I was a child, I always cryed with this movie and because of that my dad had to "make him disappear".
When I see it now, I still cry.

I love her so much. She's brave, beautiful, lovely, breaks all the rules for love, she's my heroin. That's why I love this movie.

The songs are very beautiful.

Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!

"A person his a person no mather how small it is"
His so adorable and cute. And have you seen Teddy? That's one of the cutest things I've ever seen!

It's me and my best friends!! Lol I'm Diane Keaton!!! I made the plan!! lol

Model Behavior

Justin Timberlake was soooo cute... =D

Southland Tales

The problem of the movie was the time they took to explain the initial events. We spend most of the time not understanding what we're watching and that's realy boring. When we finally reach the end, we realize that the history suk's.
