Bleak House

Despite the odd cinematography, this movie captured my interest by the end of the first episode.

The characters were developed quite well. They also did a good job on the antagonist(s)--you'll really grow to hate the scum!

While I normally love bitter-sweet endings, this one is a tad too high on the "bitter" scale (though it did have a sweet component).

Overall, I would recommend this movie.

Martin Chuzzlewit

This was an enthralling mini-series to say the least. Although it was long (6 episodes long), the story and wide array of characters are sure to capture your interest.

The series' antagonist, a man by the name of Pecksniff, is utterly odious, making you wish he would die by the end of the film!

The series ended just how I wanted: happiness with a tinge of sorrow.

Highly recommended!

The 'Burbs

I watched this movie upon the request of a friend--remind me to chastise him.

This film, though not entirely atrocious, was as cheesy as they come. Tom Hanks' talent was not enough to save this movie; it was early in his career anyway, so all he managed to do throughout the story was yell and crush beer cans with his bare hands. Not as impressive as Forest Gump by a long shot.

Overall, I would not recommend this movie.

Ever After: A Cinderella Story

Say what you will about Drew's role in other questionable movies, she did a fine job in this one.

The acting was superb and they really nailed the step-mother--I think everyone hated her by the end (and talk about sweet justice!). This is the best modern retelling of Cinderella that I have seen.

Overall this was an excellent romance film that was completely clean of the usual filth common to this genre.

Tuck Everlasting

This was a wholesome and enjoyable film. The cast did a great job and I loved the ending! The dialogue was very clever in certain spots (always a plus)

There were some superfluous scenes, so I docked it by 10%. Overall I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes romance movies or dramas.
