Game Night
Game Night (2018)

I liked the first half of "Game Night" a lot. I laughed more frequently in the first half hour. Than I normally do, watching entire films, or whole seasons of various TV comedy series. However, when the "real action" started in the later parts of the movie. I began to get tired of the bubble brained, ineptness of the central couple. Watching Bateman and McAdams, do their "Oh wow" and "that really hurts" thing. Was more like watching two people high on mild drugs. The script for the most part was fun, and the supporting cast of actors did a professional job. I rarely watch comedy films or TV series, but I'm not sorry that I watched this movie.

Acceptable Risk 104

This a great murder mystery/drama. If possible I would give this first season of the series. Four out of five stars, but definitely give it to emphatic "thumbs up". I don't think the official synopsis does the series credit. This is not one of those "my spouse was murdered(?), and I have to know why", generic dramas. This is a multi layered drama. The cast of actors are great in their roles. The producers of the series, picked really good writers. Lastly, it is only in passing, that it becomes obvious. That the central characters are all women. Unlike many of the current dramas, that, emphasize ad nauseam, that the central character is a.. "strong, capable woman.." This series stays on message, and delivers a good plot. That happens to feature, interesting, and capable female characters. I believe there will be a second season, and I hope that it is as good as the first one.

The Highwaymen

The Highwaymen, is a admittedly slow and detailed film. Films of this nature, that are about actual events. Usually show what happened prior to those events. Sometimes, the details can presented in ways, that some people would feel are boring. Fortunately, I enjoyed the time taken to give a historical frame work to the events in the film. The acting was very good, if somewhat "low key". The attention to presenting the 1930's environment, is very good. Lastly, I would suggest that the viewers, watch the credit roll at the end of the film. Which shows what happened to the principal participants, after the events covered in the film. Information is presented, complete with old photos, of the real people, that were portrayed in the film.

Triple Frontier

The production values, acting, cast (I'm not a big Ben Affleck fan, for some reason), action scenes, & cinematography were all pretty good. The plot was so-so, but I won‚(TM)t say more, because I don‚(TM)t want to include any spoilers. The film is a reasonably good action drama.
