Avengers: Endgame

Avengers Endgame is amazing. For a three hour movie it flew by and I never got bored. The first two acts are a slower pace but I thought it worked. The story was interesting and there was still good humour. The whole cast gave perfect performances. There were things that I did not see coming in this but I enjoyed the surprises. There were a few things that at first through me off but after a couple of minutes I was fine with it. I have a few nitpicks but those involve spoilers so I won't say them. The final act was absolutely incredible. It had the best scene I have ever seen in a comic book movie. There is a lot of fan service but for me it did not feel cheap and it was deserved. The ending of this felt so satisfying too, the ending for some of the characters stories I thought was perfect. It did not feel like a part 2 to Infinity War, it was its own thing but it still complimented the last avengers film nicely. At this moment it is my favourite movie in the MCU and possibly my favourite comic book movie of all time.

A Night at the Opera
3 years ago via Rotten Tomatoes

I have loved The Marx Brothers movies since I was a little kid and A Night at the Opera is one of my favourites. This is a good movie were you can just sit back and not concentrate and have a good laugh. The Marx Brothers are amazing as always and the rest of the cast is good as well. My only nitpick with this is sometimes it looks like they edited something out and the film kind of jumps and does not flow, but that is a little issue. The final act is one of my most favourite final acts out of any movie I have seen. It is so fun and funny. There's not much to say other then this is an extremely funnt movie.

The Favourite

The most praise I can give this movie is Olivia Colman's performance. She did an amazing job in her role. Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz gave really good performances as well. The movie itself was huge letdown. I don't know anything about the director to know what kind of movies he makes and I had not seen any trailers before seeing the movie. I was expecting a serious drama like film. At the start I was trown off because it was going for comedy and sometimes weird comedy. Once I had gotten used to that, it would switch tones to the serious drama and would go back and forth throughout the film. These two tones did not work in one movie. The were some scenes that were meant to be funny but instead made me cringe. Olivia Colman's did a great job as Queen Anne and I don't know much about that queen so i don't known how historically accurate the film shows the character but in the film they had two versions of her. At times she is a childish person and other times she is a person how has clearly suffered great loss. Again, I don't what she was like in real life but I wish the film stuck to one version instead of going back and forth. Emma Stone's character was good for the first half of the film but mid-way through her character makes a huge change that had no clear motivation and the character became very unlikable. The directing was okay although some scenes had a Go-Pro like look to them which I did not like too much, some scenes REALLY dragged on, especially the last scene. The sound track was bad and at times the music felt like it belonged in other movies. The film felt like it was trying to be more then one type of film which made it feel messy. Overall I'd say it is a very bad film with great performances.

Aquaman

I would say this is one of the better DCEU movies and might be my second favourite out of the bunch. That being said it is not a great movie. Jason Momoa is great as aquaman and the rest of the cast gives good performances. The chemistry between Jason Momoa and Amber Heard is not great and the villain is nothing that we have not already seen. The visuals are good for the most part, but at times the CGI is too much. The soundtrack was great and the was the fight scene were shot was fantastic. I loved the wide angel shots because you could actually see what was going one. There are some funny jokes but a lot do fall flat. This movie is very cheesy which I can handle to a point. Some people will be totally fine with it. One of my biggest issues was that they put almost every single cliche from a superhero movie it this. This made the movie predictable and the cliches made it so the cheesyness was too much for me. Overall I'd say it was entertaining enough and I can see why some people love and mabye on rewatch I'll like it more but after first viewing I was not too impressed by it.

Ant-Man and the Wasp
3 years ago via Rotten Tomatoes

Ant-man and the Wasp is a nice small scale, fun superhero film. I thought it was just as funny and as lighthearted as the first. Paul Rudd is fun as Ant-man and Evangeline Lilly steals the the show as the Wasp. Michael Pena is gretat once again. The main problem I have with this film was the Villain. The villain felt generic and it was hard to feel sympathy when it felt like a run of the mill backstory. The Cgi was good and overall it was and entertaining and fun superhero flick.
